WA private hospital care from home

Posted
by DPS

WA’s largest private health fund HBF, and Silver Chain have announced a partnership which allows HBF members to enjoy private hospital care from the comfort of their home, without reaching into their own pocket.

Aimed at facilitating and providing seamless care in the community, focussing on patient wellbeing, Silver Chain Home Hospital allows patients with less severe medical conditions, who may have ordinarily been admitted to a hospital, to be cared for in their own home.

HBF will provide members with a pantry pack of easily prepared meals and two hours of home care assistance to assist with cleaning, clothes washing, meal preparation and shopping where required.

The program will be offered to patients with less severe medical conditions such as urinary tract and respiratory infections, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolisms  and cellulitis. These members will be admitted to the program by their own GP or specialist who can oversee their progress and treatment.

A Registered Nurse will monitor the patient’s condition and administer medication in the patient’s home.

The partnership commences immediately and is available to selected members with hospital cover.
