WA offers free public transport

From 4 April 2009, West Australian Seniors, Aged and Disability Support Pension cardholders will be entitled to free travel on selected Transperth services.

This includes weekday travel between 9am and 3.30pm, plus all day on weekends and public holidays.

To obtain the free rides, cardholders must use the SmartRider electronic ticketing system.

This can be a Senior SmartRider or Pensioner SmartRider.

Applications are open at Transperth InfoCentres and SmartRider retail sales outlets.

Call 13 62 13 to locate your nearest outlet or have an application form posted to you.

Current holders of the WA Seniors Card and Seniors SmartRider do not have to apply as the existing card will automatically adjust itself from 4 April.
