Volunteers wanted for sleep study

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) researchers are looking for  people to take part in a national research project that aims to help carers get a better night’s sleep.

Researchers are looking for people who care for someone with dementia at home, who have been that person’s primary carer for at least six months, and who have noticed changes in their own sleep patterns.

Dr Sandy Sacre from QUT’s Faculty of Health said participants who chose to take part may benefit in three ways by being able to sleep better, helping researchers help others, and they’d go into the draw to win a Coles/Myer voucher.

The research will be done by mail and phone, so participants are welcome from all over Australia.

Individual names and questionnaires will be kept confidential.

The Queensland Nursing Council is funding the project.

If you are a carer who is interested in taking part, contact Dr Sacre on (07) 3138 3022 or s.sacre@qut.edu.au
