Volunteer Grants 2009 – call for applications

Posted
by DPS

The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FAHCSIA) currently has $21 million available for Volunteer Grants for 2009.

This provides funding for eligible not-for-profit organisations to support their volunteers and encourage volunteering by purchasing practical and tangible small equipment items to help volunteers, or contributing towards the reimbursement of volunteers’ fuel costs incurred when carrying out their volunteering work.

The Government expects that more than 7,000 organisations and 900,000 volunteers will benefit from grants of $1,000 up to $5,000.

Applications will be assessed and prioritised according to how strongly they meet the selection criteria.

Eligibility and selection criteria, as well as other essential information about Volunteer Grants 2009 are provided in the Volunteer Grants 2009 Application Guidelines.

Applications close 25 September 2009 at 5pm AEST. Call the Volunteer Grants toll-free Hotline 1800 183 374 or Email vg2009@fahcsia.gov.au for more information.
