Victorian mental health act review
Aged and Community Care Victoria (ACCV) which represents residential care providers, has recently responded to the Victorian government’s review of the Mental Health Act 1986.
It says its considerations are based on the belief that older people must be taken into greater account in the operation of our mental health system.
It is concerned about ensuring that older people and people with less obvious mental health issues or symptoms can also gain access to treatment and support without falling through the gaps.
