Vic emergency planning seminar

Posted
by DPS

The aged care branch of the Department of Human Services (DHS), in conjunction with Emergency Management and a variety of other authorities, will present a two day seminar to the aged care sector on emergency planning and management.

In response to recent events in Victoria including bushfires, heatwave and pandemic potential, the focus of this seminar is to increase awareness of the need for proactive emergency management planning in residential aged care.

Participants will be provided with information about the state wide emergency management system and how it interfaces with residential aged care in emergency situations. The seminar will also explore practical considerations for developing emergency management plans.

Invitations have been forwarded to all residential aged care services and supported residential services in Victoria. Because of the topicality and importance of the issues places are filling fast.

Online registration and further information is at http://www.health.vic.gov.au/agedcare/publications/seminar_jul09
