Veterans battle with their hearing
War veterans are major sufferers of hearing loss. While 80% of veterans have a significant hearing loss, only 68% wear hearing aids, according to a survey by the RAAF Association.
Another 1998 study of Vietnam veterans reported that almost half (
%) said they suffered from some level of deafness.
A hearing aid can greatly improve a sufferer’s life, and veterans are encouraged to take advantage of the services that many of them can access for free.
Each year Australian Hearing tests and assists thousands of veterans.
