University of the Sunshine Coast studies crime and seniors
The University of the Sunshine Coast has begun a national study into crime targeting seniors.
Seniors are particularly vulnerable to Internet fraud, according to Scott Prasser, who is undertaking the study. He said the research results will be used to develop a series of preventative measures to combat the growing problem.
“One of the main purposes of our research is going to try to find out how many seniors are being affected, what type of fraud is affecting them and therefore what preventative measures can be put in place now to stop this problem from occurring in a bigger way in the future,” he said.
