The awards, named in honour of the late inspirational UnitingCare care leader Carol Penning, recognise UnitingCare’s many outstanding staff that truly embrace ‘person-centred care’. The theme of this years’ awards was diversity.

“Carol believed that if you commit to truly knowing people, offering them the space and hospitality to be themselves, you enable them to soar,” Steve Teulan, Director of UnitingCare Ageing says.

This year the awards celebrated the diversity of UnitingCare’s services and programs, showcasing films of UnitingCare’s Quong Tart in Ashfield, and the Sri Om Healthy Living for Seniors Group in Seven Hills.

UnitingCare acknowledge and thanked its 3,000 dedicated volunteers at the event and for the first time the awards included a volunteer award category.
