Global adventurer and motivational speaker, Sebastian Terry, has added another feat to his ever growing list of extreme achievements.

Not content with marrying a stranger in Vegas, chasing tornados, visiting a death row inmate and even delivering a baby, Mr Terry last week prepared himself to spend a full 24 hours on a treadmill to raise money to help fight dementia.

As part of the 2013 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge, members of the public were encouraged to join Mr Terry by booking a half hour session to run alongside him – the idea being to donate $30 for every 30 minute session as well as collecting sponsors.

The challenge included 16 treadmills running throughout, with room for more than 700 people to participate and an estimated 3,072,000 steps to be taken.

In 2009, following the death of a close friend, Mr Terry decided to grab life with both hands and developed a list of 100 things to do in his lifetime.

Following his mother’s diagnosis of dementia, Mr Terry decided to channel some of his energy into raising funds for Alzheimer’s Australia Vic and teamed up with Fitness Energy for the 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge.

“This journey has taken me to some pretty amazing places and has seen me do some pretty unusual things. Spending 24 hours on a treadmill was always going to be a real test of endurance, but this is a fantastic opportunity to raise much needed funds for a cause that is very close to my heart,” Mr Terry said.
