Transitioning to new accommodation payments
A new free service, Transitional Business Advisory Services(TBAS), has been launched to help residential aged care providers transition to the new accommodation payment arrangements that start from 1 July 2014.
New accommodation payments are part of aged care reform, which will deliver a sustainable, affordable and equitable aged care system for the future.
The reforms will provide more choice and flexibility for people who need care, which means aged care providers may need to adapt their business strategies, prices and services to remain strong and competitive into the future.
All aged care providers with operational residential care places are eligible for TBAS, with priority assistance delivered to those who need it most.
The Department of Social Services has engaged professional services network, KPMG, to support providers in relation to the new accommodation payment arrangements.
Providers can now apply now for TBAS by downloading the application form and submitting it by email to tbas@kpmg.com.au.
If you want to know more about TBAS, you can call the TBAS hotline from Thursday, 3 April 2014 at 9am. The phone number will be published here on Thursday, 3 April 2014.
