Townsville plans for its seniors

Townsville’s budget has placed a focus on seniors with a plan to spend thousands on improving health and lifestyles for the city’s seniors.

The initiatives include $40,000 for the Active and Healthy Seniors Program which will provide cut price “come and try” exercise options and free health seminars at the city’s community centres.

There is also $110,000 in funding for the popular Pioneers Luncheon, $33,000 to Get connected with the Older Persons Net Project at the Vincent Computer Zone, and $47,250 for the Seniors Picnic and Lifestyle Expo.
