Time to thank Australia’s ‘best’ nurses
Nurses with a tireless contribution to the health and community service sector are being acknowledged as part of the 2014 HESTA Australian Nursing Awards.
Nominations closed last Friday, with state finalists announced next month. Interstate finalists will be flown to Sydney for the awards dinners on Thursday, 8 May 2014.
Individuals and teams are nominated in three categories – Outstanding Graduate, Team Innovation and Nurse of the Year.
Anne-Marie Corboy, HESTA chief executive, said nurses were not only the “backbone of the health system but also its heart and soul”.
“Our community owes nurses a great debt and one way we can thank them is by nominating an outstanding individual or team of nurses for these awards,” Ms Corboy said.
Long time awards supporter, ME Bank, has provided a prize pool of $30,000 to be shared among the winners in each category.
HESTA is the leading super fund for health and community services, with more than 760,000 members and $24 billion in assets.
