The Aged Care Approval Round (ACAR) kicks off

Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) information sessions will be held in all capital cities at the beginning of November, officially launching the 2008-09 process.

Over 10,000 places will be up for grabs in this year’s round; 7,600 will be residential places.

These places are in addition to the 1,500 beds provided through the Zero Real Interest Loans round.

The sessions, which will be held from 10-18 November, will include important details on the 2008-09 application forms and the basis on which applications will be assessed.

“This is an excellent opportunity for aged care providers to receive detailed information about this year’s round,” said the Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot.

For those unable to attend the sessions, the Department of Health and Ageing will place all the material online as soon as the official invitation for applications is posted.

For more information, including the locations and times of the sessions, contact the Aged Care Information Line on 1800 500 853.
