Tas 2007-08 Health & Human Services Budget details
Features of the 2007-08 Tasmanian Budget include:
· Total budgeted expenditure for health and human services of almost $1.4 billion
· Increased funding in excess of 7% across all health and human services
· The first stages of implementation of Tasmania’s Health Plan
· Introduction of a new Ambulance Service Fee from 1 July 2008
· $5 million for the commencement of the Royal Hobart Hospital Redevelopment project
· Increased funding to support the continuation of the reform of child protection services
· The release of up to $10 million in Crown Land for affordable housing and the introduction of a shared equity scheme to improve home ownership opportunities for disadvantage Tasmanians
· $12.2 million in additional funding for community sector organisations
