Sydney’s St Luke’s 90th birthday

Sydney icon, St Luke’s Hospital, will be celebrating a series of 90th anniversary events in October. Established in 1919 with 11 beds in a converted private house known as Trebartha, St Luke’s was a direct response to the number of wounded soldiers returning from World War I and the increasing number of Sydney residents unable to afford private hospital care.
Today, the historic Potts Point facility features an acute surgical and medical hospital of 71 beds, four state-of-the art operating theatres, a purpose-built day surgery facility, a rehabilitation centre with hydrotherapy pool and a sleep studies centre.
St Luke’s Hospital has retained its charitable focus and commitment to community wellbeing.
