Posted
by DPS

The Rudd Government has signed an agreement with Rural and Metropolitan Health Pty Ltd to provide $2.5 million for the establishment of the Port Stephens GP Super Clinic, in the main shopping precinct of Nelson Bay at the former Nelson Bay Plaza.

The facility will accommodate up to six full-time general practitioners, three nurses and a range of medical specialists and allied health services.

The Port Stephens GP Super Clinic will provide integrated health services to meet the needs and priorities of the local community.

It will have a strong focus on preventative care and chronic disease management, especially in the area of diabetes.

The Port Stephens GP Super Clinic intends to provide many bulk-billed and weekend services.

It will also work closely with local aged care facilities and community-based organisations such as Port Stephens Community Transport and Port Stephens Community Options Program.
