Sunshine Coast consumers to help plan new hospital
Three Sunshine Coast health consumers with strong community links and networks are being sought to help plan the new $940 million tertiary hospital at Kawana, Qld Health Minister Stephen Robertson says.
They will be appointed to a newly-established Stakeholder Advisory Group to help steer the development of the new 650 bed hospital. The Group will ensure full consumer, carer and community participation in the hospital’s service planning and delivery. In particular, the group’s role includes undertaking further analysis and consultation in relation to:
. The core values and principles that define the philosophy of care at the Sunshine Coast Hospital.
. The service delivery models that will ensure the people of the Sunshine Coast region have access to high quality care.
. The development of teaching and research infrastructure consistent with that required for a tertiary hospital.
People interested in serving on the Advisory Group have until 9 July 2007 to submit a written application detailing any experience they have with consumer groups and their motivation for wanting to join the Stakeholder Advisory Group .
