Stepping on … ACT falls prevention and education program for the over 70’s

This seven-week program will teach about many aspects of falls and injury prevention and aims to help older adults identify and address their own falls risk factors.

The program is suitable for individuals living independently in the community. It will be held at the Independent Living Centre, Parkinson Street, Weston, from  10.30am-12.30pm, Wednesday mornings commencing 6 August.

Each session will include an exercise component aimed at improving strength and balance. An Occupational Therapist Home Safety Assessment will be offered to all participants.

Guest speakers will speak on the following:

* Exercise for strength, health & balance
* Nutrition & bone health
* Vision and eye health
* Medication management
* Home hazards and community safety
* Foot care
