Special aged care training program in WA for parents and mature aged
The Australian Government has joined with the WA Branch of the Australian Medical Association and Perth employers to fund and run a special training program which has trained 44 mature aged and parents on pensions, for jobs in the WA aged care sector.
The aged care industry faces a chronic skills shortage and has diversified its traditional workforce to help fill vacancies. The job seekers have now moved into traineeships in aged care.
The scheme will now extend to similar job seekers in Bunbury.
