SA seniors sign up for bootcamp

Older South Australians aren’t letting age stop them from taking part in the disciplined fitness activity of the ACH Group Bootcamp.

Five residents from ACH Group’s Milpara nursing home at Rostrevor were put through their paces by personal trainers at Healthy Living Fitness in North Adelaide.

This group of fitness enthusiasts has shown great physical and cognitive improvement since undertaking the ACH Group Bootcamp exercise regime in September.

Sessions included a range of activities such as boxing, weights and exercise ball work.

ACH Group chief executive officer, Dr Mike Rungie, said “we saw ACH Group Bootcamp as a way to encourage our residents to improve their health and fitness in a fun and supportive environment. In a relatively short period, participants drastically improved their mobility and strength, which has given them more confidence as they go about their daily lives”.
