Rubicon Grove Expansion

OneCare’s Rubicon Grove in Port Sorell will this month commence
construction of a new 20 bed wing extension, including a community centre
and a tea house, with a total project value of over $5 million.

This follows the provision of a licence for 20 low-care suites by the

Commonwealth Government in 2015.

The additional 20 suites will significantly expand the facility, bringing the total
number of suites up to 80.

OneCare CEO Norm Mcilfatrick, Senator Duniam and Latrobe Mayor Peter
Freshney each addressed OneCare’s guests at the Port Sorell facility for the
official launch, among residents, staff, volunteers and other community
stakeholders.

Senator Duniam is passionate about the project saying “this will be a great
asset for this beautiful community and great for the wonderful residents of
Rubicon Grove.”

CEO Norm Mcilfatrick says “it’s really about this being part of the community”
as the new buildings will include a community hub to be utilised by local
Rotary and Lions clubs, as well as the Bridge of Hope Church.

This expansion represents a major investment in the move to address the
demand for aged care on the North West Coast of Tasmania.
