Resident Classification Scale (RCS) statistics
The Department of Health and Ageing has released the latest statistical update for Resident Classification Scale (RCS), which determines Government residential aged care funding for each resident.
In an ideal world, the reviews would validate the assessments of required care (hence funding) undertaken by Aged Care Assessment Teams and facilities. However, these figures indicate that there is still a significant downgrading of assessment, therefore funding, especially in NSW.
