Replacement for syringes used in palliative care
Palliative Care Australia has produced a report on alternative devices currently available in the Australian market to replace Graseby syringe drivers which are widely used in aged and palliative care.
The Graseby MS16A (introduced in 1976) and MS26 (introduced in 1983) syringe drivers have been a mainstay of palliative care provision across Australia for more than twenty years.
Smiths Medical Australia withdrew the two Graseby syringe drivers from the Australian market effective of close of business on 3 October 2007. However, Smiths Medical Australia will continue to service these devices for at least a further five years.
Palliative Care Australia in collaboration with the Centre for Palliative Care Research and Education has produced the report to help inform the sectors about alternative products available in Australia now.
