Regis Shenley Manor in Camberwell, Victoria, has officially opened its doors and welcomed its first residents.

Shenley Manor is located on the site of the old Salvation Army run Bethany Nursing Home. The Regis Group invested over $5 million into the facility which will be home to 60 residents and employ 80 local healthcare professionals.

The first 11 residents, who moved in yesterday, were former resident’s of the Bethany Nursing Home who agreed to relocate when Regis bought the home. The residents have spent the last two years living at other Regis facilities.

Regis national manager major projects, Trish Fairman, says “It was always our intention to return these residents back to the area they once lived in and would like to thank them for their patience and cooperation during the rebuilding phase.

“We are very pleased to welcome them to Shenley Manor and hope they will be very happy in their new surrounds,” she added.

“Whilst other aged care providers are putting their expansion plans on hold due to funding issues Regis is moving forward with a substantial construction and refurbishment program and responding to the challenge of an ageing population. Shenley Manor will be the Regis Group’s sixteenth facility in Victoria.

“We are very proud of our track record in this area and will continue to assist older Australians’ to live their lives to the fullest with compassion and respect,” said Mrs Fairman.
