Registrations open for 2015 National Conference on Incontinence
SPONSORED STORY – Registrations are now open for the 24th National Conference on Incontinence, to be held at Melbourne’s Crown Conference Centre, 25 – 28 November.
As the premier event for health professionals involved in promoting and managing incontinence this year’s conference has a strong emphasis on ageing with presentations and workshops on Continence Promotion in Aged Care.
Keynote international and national invited speakers include:
- Mark Weatherall (NZ), a consultant geriatrician for Capital and Coast Health District Health Board in Wellington, NZ, and Professor and Head of Department in the Department of Medicine at University of Otago Wellington.
- Mary Palmer (USA), the Helen W. and Thomas L. Umphlet Distinguished Professor in Aging in the University of North Carolina School of Nursing and interim co-director of and senior scientist at the university’s Institute on Aging. For more than 25 years Professor Palmer has conducted research, published and lectured extensively on urinary incontinence and bladder health in adults and geriatric populations.
- Karel Everaert (Belgium), has been Head of Clinics Functional Urology since 1999 and Professor in Neurourology at Belgium’s Ghent University Hospital since 2011. He is currently active in clinical research on nocturnal polyuria, incontinence/LUTS in elderly, urinary catheters and bladder management.
- Michael Kamm (Aus), Professor of Gastroenterology at Melbourne’s St Vincent’s Hospital, University of Melbourne and London’s Imperial College. Professor Kamm specialises in luminal gastroenterology disorders, inflammatory bowel diseases and functional gut and pelvic floor disorders.
- Anne Pelletier-Cameron (USA), a urologist based at the University of Michigan, where she is currently a clinical Assistant Professor in urology surgery and director of the Clinical Urology Research Endeavor (CURE). Her clinical interests include complex incontinence, female urethral disease and the care of neurogenic bladder.
- Chantale Dumoulin (Canada), a professor at Montreal University’s School of Rehabilitation, where she developed and currently directs the only post-graduate university-based pelvic floor rehabilitation program for physiotherapists in Canada.
The multidisciplinary program, makes the conference a must for all clinicians working in a variety of specialities and areas of health care, as well as companies seeking to showcase their products and services. Registered nurses and physiotherapists working in continence care in rural and remote areas of Australia can apply for scholarships to attend the conference.
