Fremantle’s Regis Hillcrest, has been named Outstanding Facility of the Year for the Regis Group.

The award was accepted by facility manager, Janeen Karsten, on behalf of staff and residents at Regis Hillcrest in Western Australia (WA), at the Regis Group’s annual National Staff Awards Gala Dinner held in Melbourne last Friday night.

The Outstanding Facility of the Year Award is based on four major performance criteria: resident care, staff coaching and development, overall financial performance and compliance. Of the 41 facilities the Regis Group operates nationally, Hillcrest came out on top.

Ms Karsten said, “the team at Hillcrest was very proud of its award and whilst it is a very big surprise, are thrilled to be recognised for their hard work in making their facility a real home for residents and a great place to work for the whole team.

““Living, with Support” is not just Hillcrest’s value statement, it is what we truly strive to achieve on a daily basis.”

This award tops off a very successful couple of weeks for Regis Hillcrest, which only a fortnight ago, was also awarded the Aged Care Australia Association (ACAA) Excellence in Management Award in the Facility Team category. This national award was based on superior management skills in the areas of innovation, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm and motivation.

Regis Hillcrest supports 79 low and high care residents and employs 60 local health care professionals.

Regis Group WA operations manager, Michelle De Ronchi says, “winning the award for Outstanding Facility of the Year, following the ACAA Excellence in Management Award, highlights the hard work, commitment and passion shown by Regis Hillcrest staff in caring for residents, their families and fellow colleagues.

“Regis is proud to be at the forefront of aged care and an employer of choice and will continue to invest in both its staff and residents’ well-being,” Ms De Ronchi added.

The Regis National Staff Awards recognise the combined skills, energy and efforts of its staff in ten categories and encourage excellence and outstanding performance in line with business objectives and values.
