Regis Aged Care has acquired Playford Village from Baptist Care (SA) Inc.

The acquisition of the 125-bed aged care home, whilst subject to the approval of the Department of Health and Ageing, is due to be completed on 1 July 2013.

Regis Aged Care has operated in South Australia for many years and has two large established facilities in Linden Park and Kingswood.

"In this our 20th anniversary year, we are very excited to be adding Playford Village to our family of aged care homes across Australia" Regis CEO, Ross Johnston said.

"We are very proud of our achievements and reputation in South Australia and the addition of Playford Village will complement our high standards of care. All staff will be invited to join Regis Aged Care and there will be no redundancies.

"We are proud to not only be Australian owned and operated but also a twenty year leader in the aged care industry offering security, quality aged care and choice for older Australians, as well as meaningful career options for our dedicated staff" Mr Johnston added.

Baptist Care (SA) Inc. CEO Paul Scully said: "The sale of Playford Village is mutually beneficial to both Baptist Care and Regis Aged Care. Regis has a broad and long established presence in not only South Australia but across the country giving us peace-of-mind that care levels will be maintained for existing residents, and staff will have on-going employment and career development opportunities"

Playford Village will bring the number of aged care facilities owned and operated by Regis Aged Care in South Australia to three. Regis Aged Care offers over 4,700 beds and employs in excess of 5,000 healthcare professionals across 45 facilities in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
