‘Redirected’ elderly health funding in Victoria worry according to AMA
Doctors are calling on the Victorian Government to restore funding for elderly patients in public hospitals.
The Australian Medical Association (AMA) has raised concerns about funding cuts for conditions commonly suffered by older patients – including dementia, stroke and heart failure.
The Government said it has not cut funding for elderly patients, but has redirected money to rehabilitation centres and community care.
