Ageing Canberrans will have greater access to quality residential care, south of the nation’s capital, after ACT Chief Minister and Health Minister, Katy Gallagher MLA, officially opened Canberra’s newest aged care facility at Goodwin Monash.
The new facility was named in recognition of long serving board director, David Harper OAM.
Goodwin Aged Care Services chief executive, Chris Lamont said, David Harper House is already home to more than 60 residents and, like its namesake, the facility is providing innovative and quality residential care.
“Mr Harper served as a director on the Goodwin Aged Care Services Board of Directors for more than 24 years, the Goodwin organisation wanted to build a facility that embodies the same commitment to aged/residential care that David Harper has demonstrated through his outstanding service,” Mr Lamont said.
Ms Gallagher said aged care in Canberra is of quality and Goodwin provides a good example of this.
“Goodwin Aged Care Services have continued to demonstrate their commitment to the aged in the ACT,” Ms Gallagher said.
“David Harper House brings added choice and additional aged care services to families in the Tuggeranong Valley,” she added.
