Qld Seniors Week 23 -31 August

Posted
by DPS

It is time for Queensland seniors to kick up their heels and get involved with Seniors Week 2008.

Seniors Week in Queensland runs from 23 to 31 August with events across Queensland, including tai chi classes, cooking demonstrations, art classes and themed parties.

The Brisbane City Council is holding a Senior Superstar Grand Final event on Sunday, 31 August at City Hall, Ann Street.

Ten of the best acts from the Seniors Superstar series will perform along with a special guest appearance from the 2006 winner, Glad Graveson and last year’s Superstar, Peter Vance.

Doors open at 1.30pm and continues until 4.30pm. The event is free.

Seniors Week is held every year to celebrate the contributions seniors make to communities and promotes positive  attitudes towards older people and ageing.
