Qld review of caravan parks legislation
Queensland Fair Trading Minister, Margaret Keech, has announced a review of the Manufactured Homes Act, which affects 10,000 Queenslanders living in residential parks.
Manufactured Homes Association spokesman, Errol Way, says the most common problem facing park residents is the use of “market reviews” to set new rents.
“These tend to allow fairly unrestricted increases to be made and the Act doesn’t specifically address this. We’re hoping to close some of these loopholes,” he said.
