Public transport changes in Qld

Seniors and pensioners will be eligible for some free journeys under new fare arrangements that come into effect early next year in Queensland but overall prices for travel will be going up.
Under the changes to take place from January next year:
- Single paper tickets will be retained to ensure all infrequent users and tourists will be able to easily access public transport;
- Any journey made by go card for seniors and pensioners in excess of two journeys in the one day will be free; and
- go card fares and single paper ticket fares will increase by 15% as announced in October 2009.
