The next COTA Criterion Aged Care Roadmap event, the Aged Care Business Model Innovation Conference 2017 – held on 5 and 6 April 2017 in Sydney, will answer those questions and more, as it looks at the opportunities for innovation and growth in the new market.

“To effectively prepare for the competitive aged care market, it is crucial to gain an understanding of how the current funding, reform and regulatory environment will impact your organisation’s strategy and capacity to innovate and compete,” says COTA Australia Chief Executive Ian Yates.

“As we progress through the reform journey, we now have the opportunity to take stock of where we are up to and what is next for the future of aged care.”

Mr Yates explains that the conference will assist delegates in understanding key milestones in reform as well as the barriers and opportunities for growth and innovation in the sector.

“A review of how aged care is funded and paid for has begun, with the government commissioning the University of Wollongong to identify alternatives to the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI).

“In addition to this, the government has also commissioned David Tune AO PSM to lead the Aged Care Legislated Review of the changes to aged care. The review is an important step in assessing how the reforms have shaped the aged care system,” Mr Yates says.

With consumers in the drivers seat in this era of choice and control, it is essential for providers to review how they’re responding to the impact of aged care reform and formulate their plan for future direction.

The Aged Care Business Model Innovation Conference will give you essential insights into where the aged care sector is headed and unpack the future funding and regulatory environment to make critical decisions around strategy and innovation.

The conference will share key insights on:

  • Changes to funding – unpacking how aged care will be funded and paid for
  • Navigating the regulatory environment – reducing red tape to drive innovation
  • New cutting edge business models for competitive aged care
  • Opportunities to innovate through consolidation and partnerships

“We look forward to engaging with you in April and to sharing insights you can take back and implement at your organisation to give it a significant competitive edge,” Mr Yates adds.
