The Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA), has announced that applications for the Postgraduate Community Aged Care Nursing Scholarship Scheme have opened.

The scholarships are funded by the Australian Government and administered by RCNA.

Applications are open to registered nurses (division 1) across Australia, who are working in the community aged care sector, have a current practising certificate and wish to undertake further study in 2009.

The scholarship scheme provides financial assistance for educational study programs or courses, including relevant accredited tertiary level or TAFE level courses, workshops and conference participation.

Successful applicants must undertake programs that are directly relevant to nursing employment in the community aged care sector.

Applicants may apply for assistance toward more than one professional development activity.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 24 October 2008.
