PM agrees to a Senate Inquiry into cost of living pressures on older Australians
The Prime Minister Mr John Howard has welcomed the Leader of the Opposition, Kevin Rudd’s call for an inquiry into cost of living pressures on older Australians.
He told Parliament it would give the Government the chance to outline the many programs it had already initiated for older Australians.
Mr Rudd said he would also work toward an Australia wide Seniors Card so the ‘grey nomads’ had a consistent standard of service on their travels.
“One of the practical things that people run into is that the concession card often doesn’t work,” he said.
