Plan for your pet’s future
The RSPCA has developed a new Bequest Animal Program which will enable caring pet owners to make provision for their pets when they are no longer able to provide the care themselves.
The program involves registering pets with the RSPCA and leaving a gift in a will to RSPCA Victoria. This means that when people can no longer provide personal care for their pet, it becomes the legal responsibility of the RSPCA to take over.
The RSPCA will place the animal in a carefully selected foster home and RSPCA vets monitor and oversee all health and veterinary services for the pet. A minimum gift is required to register the pets on the Bequest Animal Program to cover the veterinary care and also four weeks boarding at the RSPCA a year.
The program covers dogs and cats but also a large range of family pets from goldfish and ducks to large farm animals.
