Pedestrians and cyclists at risk on roads
The Centre for Automotive Safety Research has confirmed that bull bars make four wheel drives more dangerous for pedestrians in a crash, with a more severe impact than a normal bumper, leading to calls to ban them from all passenger vehicles.
A British study has also found that cyclists who wear helmets were more at risk of being knocked by cars because the drivers passed twice as close to them than if they did not wear a helmet.
