Older workers more productive
Australian Health Management, a not for profit health insurer has released a study showing that workers aged 55 or above are more productive than under 35s because they suffer less depression and headaches, and have no childcare problems.
It showed that under 35 year old workers had an average 19% reduction in productivity due to childcare responsibilities, allergies, depression, headaches and asthma. Workers over 55 showed only 13% productivity reductions. The figure was 16% for 35-44 year old workers, and 15% for those aged 45-54.
