Older People Speak Out (OPSO) Media Awards

The OPSO Media Awards have for 14 years recognised print and electronic stories and photographs that ‘present older people and their issues in a fair and balanced way’.

The awards are presented by Older People Speak Out, to improve media images of older people and encourage the media to portray older people as contributing individuals rather than as people somehow diminished by ageing.

One particular opportunity is the ‘People’s Choice Media Award’, which allows individuals to nominate a newspaper or magazine article, radio or television interview; news or current affairs story; or print or electronic advertisement that illustrates positive ageing.

Details and nomination forms are available at www.opso.com.au
