Office Christmas parties present infrequent drinkers with particular challenges due to the Australian culture of excessive drinking. However, the older the worker the less likely they were to miss a day’s work due to alcohol.
More than 2.6 million workdays are lost each year due to hangovers, at an annual cost of $473 million, according to the study undertaken by the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction at Flinders University.
