NSW report on residential aged care admissions
The NSW Auditor General has called for greater transparency in the process of assessment and placement of elderly persons in residential aged care in the report ‘Helping Older People Access a Residential Aged Care Facility’.
The Auditor General’s report said that the time taken to start an assessment in NSW varied from about two days to 47 days and recommended that ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) performance measures be published in the NSW Health Annual Report.
