NSW Premier launches election initiatives for seniors
NSW Premier, Morris Iemma, has promised a range of initiatives to help seniors live safely at home.
He used the free Seniors week concert to make his pitch for their vote, and introduced his elderly parents Giuseppe and Maria, to the audience.
Major promises included a $34 million plan to make sure that frail seniors who live in public housing receive a daily phone call to check on their welfare.
He will also provide an extra $18 million for home visits by doctors and other specialists, designed to keep elderly people out of hospital.
