NSW Liberal accused of branch stripping of nursing home and retirement village residents
NSW Liberal MP Andrew Humpherson has been accused of targeting elderly party members in his electorate living in nursing homes and retirement villages, to leave their branches and convert to general membership.
One 87 year old party member in a retirement village agreed he had signed Mr Humpherson’s letter inviting him to change to the general party roll, but was unaware he would be removed from the branch rolls.
Mr Humpherson denied a request from a reporter to specifically deny he had targeted over 65s or that he had made approaches to elderly members in person or by phone.
