This is the situation for many people with arthritic pain after Medicare’s withdrawal of rebates for joint injections in 2009.
Arthritis Australia research shows one in five people are delaying – or going without joint injections – because they can no longer afford it.
Arthritis Australia is now calling for Australians to join its campaign to restore Medicare funding for joint injections, and are asking people to send an email or letter to the Federal Ministers for Health and their local Federal MPs, demanding a change to this policy.
