New Vic Minister for Aged Care

Minister Lisa Neville
Lisa Neville, a new member of the Bracks Labor Government’s Ministry
announced after last week’s election, has been appointed as Minister
for Aged Care.
A member of Steve Bracks’ right wing Labor Unity faction, she
represents a Geelong electorate and is the only local Minister from this
electorally important region.
As well as aged care (which Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper describes as ‘challenging but low profile’), she takes on a new Mental Health portfolio, and picks up the Children’s Ministry which was previously held by Sherryl Garbutt who retired from Parliament.
The former Aged Care Minister, Gavin Jennings, has been given Community Services (previously Sherryl Garbutt) along with continuing as Aboriginal Affairs Minister.
