New rehab and aged care centre in Geelong
The Victorian and Federal Governments have combined to develop a $13.8 million Community Rehabilitation Centre in North Geelong, the largest of its type in regional Victoria.
The Commonwealth has contributed $4 million under its Pathways Home project, and the State Government has put in $9.8million as part of its $97 million investment in the McKellar Centre’s redevelopment.
As well as the rehabilitation centre, the redevelopment includes 198 aged care beds and a super kitchen to serve all Barwon Health facilities. The centre provides specialist services in psyiotherapy, occupational therapy, orthotics and prosthetics, speech therapy, dietetics, psychology, continence management, memory clinic and medical imaging.
