New providers to deliver disability services
The Minister for Human Services, Cassy O’Connor, welcomed new providers for regional respite centres and community access programs to help improve services for adult Tasmanians living with disability.
Ms O’Connor said all community access programs and respite care first for children and now for adults have moved wholly to the community sector.
She said that Tasmania has taken a major step forward towards better services for people with disability, their families and carers by supporting the community sector to deliver these services.
Ms O’Connor said the new model for delivering services had involved major structural change over the past two years.
