New govt nursing home in Portland Vic

Harbourside Lodge, a new 30 bed nursing home costing $5 million, has been opened at Portland by Minister for Senior Victorians, Lisa Neville.

With sea views and ensuite rooms, it is part of the Victorian government funded redevelopment of Portland’s Seymour Cundy nursing home and day surgery unit.

“By providing new and sustainable facilities such as Harbourside Lodge, the Brumby Government is helping to meet the needs of Portland’s growing number of seniors,” Ms Neville said.

“This safe and modern 30-bed home is part of the $9 million capital redevelopment of Portland District Health.

The day surgery unit will help more patients to be treated and able to return home faster following minor surgery.
