New exemptions for assets tests for rural homeowners
The Government has advertised that from 1 January there has been an increase in property size for rural homeowners which is exempted from the assets test, for people of Age Pension age.
This could mean that more people are now eligible for an Age Pension or Carer Payment, and the advertisement advises people to check with their local Centrelink Customer Service Centre or visit www.centrelink.gov.au
